Flipkart Surprises India: Galaxy S24 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Now Available

Flipkart has surprised fans during its Big Billion Days sale by opening pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S24 in India, now equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This marks a significant shift for the Indian market, which initially received the Exynos 2400 variant of the S24 and S24+.

Snapdragon Takes Over in India

The new Snapdragon-powered Galaxy S24 comes in two storage options:
  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: ₹75,000
  • 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: ₹80,000
For comparison, the original launch price of the 8/256GB Exynos variant was also ₹80,000. Interestingly, Flipkart now offers this model alongside the Galaxy S25 (12/256GB) at ₹75,000, which has a more advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite and 4GB more RAM. This raises questions about value and whether consumers will prefer the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 over the newer S25 model.

Availability and Variants

The Exynos variant of the Galaxy S24 has been removed from Flipkart but remains listed on Samsung India’s official website. The Snapdragon model, however, appears only on Flipkart and carries a new model number: SM-S921E (the original Exynos India model was SM-S921B).

Notably, the Galaxy S24+ is not receiving a Snapdragon re-release for India. For those looking for Snapdragon-powered options in the larger S-series, the Galaxy S25+ remains the recommended choice. The S24 Ultra, as before, exclusively uses Snapdragon in all markets, so no changes were needed for that model.

Software and Features

The Snapdragon Galaxy S24 ships with Android 15 out of the box, an upgrade from the original version 14 on the Exynos model. Other features, including display, camera setup, and battery, remain consistent with the original S24 specifications.

What This Means for Buyers

While the new Snapdragon variant may appeal to enthusiasts who prefer Qualcomm over Samsung’s Exynos chips, pricing and value comparisons with the S25 lineup make the decision less straightforward. Consumers will have to weigh whether the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s performance is worth the trade-off compared to the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite in the S25.
